Speedup Folder Browsing

Everytime you open "My Computer" to browse folders is there a slight delay? Would you like to improve the Speed of folder browsing?

Windows XP automatically searches for network files and printers every-time you open Windows Explorer.

So what can you do to resolve the time it takes to browse your folders?

There is a tweak within XP that allows you to switch this feature off:

  • Open My Computer
  •

  • Click on Tools menu
  •

  • Click on Folder Options
  •

  • Click on the View tab.
  •

  • Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box
  •

  • Click Apply
  •

  • Click Ok
  •

  • Reboot your computer
  •
