Unable to upgrade Outlook Live Connector - olc.msi
The Microsoft OutlookLive Connector allows Microsoft Outlook connect to your Windows Live account. However, with a recent upgrade, which is forced by Microsoft, I received problems due to a missing olc.msi file. I'm using Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 and I have spent the last few weeks trying to resolve an issue with upgrading the Outlook Live Connector. Whenever I tried to upgrade it I received the error "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". The file it is looking for is olc.msi. After searching my PC I found a copy in "C:\Program Files\MSECache\OlkConnector", however if I just point the installation to this file I received an error saying it is the wrong version. To fix this you need to right click on olc.msi and select "repair", if you receive a message saying the system cannot find the olc.msi file enter "C:\Program Files\MSECache\OlkConnector", the location where the file is, into the box. When you continue with the repair the file olc.msi is copied into the correct location. Start Outlook again and follow the instructions to upgrade the Microsoft Outlook Live Connector and all should be well. |
